We would rather hold too little data than too much. Below is what Wood Carves actually collects and what happens to it, in line with the DPDP Act 2023.

What we collect

• For getting the parcel to you: Name, full address, pincode, phone and email. The courier needs the address and the phone; we need the email to send you confirmations.
• The payment side: We record that the order was paid and how much. The UPI authorisation takes place in your app; none of those details reach this site.
• Your emails and calls: Emails, call notes and claim photographs, all filed under the order number.
• Technical logs: Access logs with IP, browser and page. Their purpose is uptime and security, nothing more.

Our limits

• Your information is not for sale, at any price, to anyone.
• An order is not consent to marketing. We do not assume otherwise.
• No advertising or behavioural tracking scripts are used.
• No ID proof is required to shop here, so we never collect it.

Who gets to see it

We share with the courier carrying your parcel, the company hosting this site, and the service delivering our email. No other party receives your details.

Only a binding legal requirement would extend that list, and we would notify you if permitted.

How long is it held

We hold order and invoice data for the period the tax rules set, keep support threads while they remain relevant, and let server logs expire by themselves.

What you are entitled to

Under the DPDP Act 2023 you can ask what we hold about you, have mistakes corrected, and ask for deletion of anything we are not obliged to keep. Write to service@woodcarves.shop and we will answer within a reasonable time.

We may need to confirm you are who you say you are before acting on a request, which usually means replying from the email address the order was placed with.

Cookies on this site

The cookies this site sets are the working kind: one to remember your basket, one to keep you logged in if you have an account, and one to record a cookie choice. Clearing them empties your basket but does nothing worse.
